Here's what I actually get up to.
Not too many examples. That's the point.

I've been doing this for over a decade. Staff engineer at major companies. Most of my current work is simpler stuff—tools that help people, sites that get the job done.

This page might seem light on examples. That's intentional. I'm not selling you. I'm just trying to show you what I actually do. If it sounds like your problem, let's talk.

What I Build

Small, useful, shipped

FiberLink Calculator

Just finished this up. A simple Expo app that calculates fiber optic cable loss based on connector loss, cable distance, and gives you notes. I'll publish it publicly soon—it's the kind of thing I'm excited about.

Aunt's Accounting Site

Single-person accounting firm. Clean, simple, no bullshit. Just a site that actually tells people what they need to know and lets them reach out easily. Built and launched in a few days because that's all it needed.

Web Simple Small business
The usual

Internal tools

I've built a ton of these at Shopify and Stitch Fix. Dashboards, data tools, automation scripts. The boring stuff that makes other people's lives easier. If it needs to be reliable and not break, I've probably done it.

Ruby on Rails React Internal platforms

Web apps with real logic

Most of my recent Shopify work was building internal tools: I built the 1p messaging platform (support chat for merchants), translations tools, and a ton of privacy/compliance features. The cookie banner, "do not sell my data" pages, automated privacy settings—stuff so merchants don't need to become legal experts to open a shop. That's the kind of practical, complex web work I do. Data processing, user flows, state management. I've done this for years.

React Node.js TypeScript

Mobile apps

Expo for most things—fast, practical. Native Swift when it makes sense. I've been doing this since before Expo existed (yes, I did Obj-C back in the day). Not every client needs mobile, and I'm fine with that.

Expo React Native Swift

This sounds familiar?

If what I've built here (or not here) feels like what you need, let's talk. No pitch. Just be honest about what you're trying to do.
